First puppyshow!

Yesterday, we showed our puppies for the first time! A proud moment for us as first-time golden-breeders. We had Rose/Karma (Kerenza's After The Gold Rush) and Amandus (Kerenza's A Man Is A Man) with us, and they seemed to enjoy being at the show. They both wanted to say hello to all the people passing by, fortunately including the judge :)
Amandus was first in the ring, and initially he found the floor a bit too slippery, and thought jumping around was the best way of moving. He quickly understood, however, that keeping all four feet on the ground worked much better. Rose acted exactly in the same way, and at the end of her show in the ring, was almost a meter ahead of me (much like their half-sister Cima, when we are in the ring!). Their show-career seems very promising to me :)
This time the judge preferred Amandus, and put him up to best of breed, and Rose best of opposite. Next time, it may be the other way around! Amandus was also nr 2 in the group, of 7-8 puppies. The third place was taken by Jan-Erik with the lovely am.cocker puppy Filip (Caci's CC Cowboy). We helped each other with the best of breed competitions, and both of the goldens got to try another handler! Which was no problem, being the angels that they are :)
This is what the judge said about Amandus :
"Appealing overall impression. Nice male. Correct bite. Testicles OK. Nice dark eyes. Black nose. Strong bone. Very good front. Very well angulated. Good top- and underline. Moves effectively. Good coat and colour. Very well shown when the dog has time :)"
And about Rose:
"Appealingly feminine. Correct bite. Beautiful head and expression. Nice dark eyes. Black nose. Good bone. Very good front. All-round well angulated. Very good top- and underline. Moves effectively and typical for the breed. Good coat and colour. Very well shown."So we are of course very pleased with the puppies first outing! The important thing was that they had fun, and did not care at all about being in a noisy hall with lots of other dogs, people and agility!
